The museum was created as part of the implementation of Project BG-RRP-11.020-0168-C01 – Digital Museum of Bulgarian Comedy, funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU instrument.
The Digital Museum of Comedy is designed as an open and accessible platform, intended not only for Bulgarian audiences but also for anyone interested in humor as a cultural phenomenon. In order to reach a wider audience, the website offers a full English-language version, allowing international users to access and explore the content without language barriers.
Through the English version, visitors can discover the main categories of the museum – personalities, works, historical periods, and archives – as well as explore a wide range of materials related to the development of comedy in Bulgaria. The content is presented in a clear and accessible way, making it understandable and engaging for international audiences regardless of their cultural or linguistic background.
In this way, the Digital Museum of Comedy establishes itself as an open platform that transcends national boundaries and creates opportunities for cultural exchange. By providing access in multiple languages, the project promotes interest in the Bulgarian humorous tradition and enables it to be recognized and appreciated within a broader European and global context.
